Waveland - Jesse C. Staggs, 80, a life resident of the Waveland community died Tuesday morning. A son of Abraham and Rachel Algood Staggs, he was born in Howard Twp, Parke County. He was married to Stella R. Delp in April 1912 in Rockville. Mr. Staggs farmed and did ditching work. He was a member of the Byron Christian Church. Surviving are the wife, two sons, James Leo Staggs of Logansport and Vernon Staggs of Elkhart; a daughter, Mrs. Louis Pruett of New Richmond, a brother; William B. Staggs of Waveland, a sister, Arthelia Myers of Minnesota; 17 grandchildren 32 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Machledt & Servies Funeral Home. Burial was in Wolf Creek Cemetery, Rev. Walter Porter officiated. – kbz
